Saved by the house alarm

Never in my wildest dream did I ever thought that burglars will attempt to enter our village, specifically our house. We live in a secured place where security guards roam the village every night and secure the entry and exit gates 24/7. That is why I was hesitant when my husband suggested that we should get a home security system. I thought that it would be useless, not to mention expensive. But he was able to convince me because he said that the nature of his work, which requires him to travel a lot, makes him worry a lot everytime he leaves us. I actually agreed, not for the purpose of securing our home, but more of giving my husband peace of mind. Fortunately, we were able to find effective and yet affordable home security system through ADT. We asked it to be installed right away because my husband is scheduled to leave again in a few days. That happened 1 week ago which protected us from what happened last night. We were awakened by the house alarm. I was so scared and my immediate reaction was to go to my daughter’s room and protect them. I was relieved to see them safe in their bedrooms, more relieved when I heard the police siren coming because an ADT representative called them.
